William Dieterle’s 1936 film “The Story of Louis Pasteur” will be shown at Delaware Valley University on Wednesday, Sept. 26. The viewing and follow up discussion will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Life Sciences Building auditorium. All are welcome, and there is no cost to attend. Guests do not need to register in advance.

World Rabies Day raises awareness for rabies prevention, with hundreds of events taking place across the world.  This year’s theme is, “Share the message.  Save a life.” World Rabies Day helps support global activism for rabies prevention by educating people about the disease and how it spreads and by encouraging the public to get involved in prevention efforts.

The screening of the award-winning film, “The Story of Louis Pasteur,” and following discussion will honor the life and accomplishments of Louis Pasteur, the discoverer of the rabies vaccine. The film has something for everyone’s interests, including history, intrigue, deadly diseases, science, and One Health. Pasteur’s legacy is honored each year by World Rabies Day, which is on his birthday. Rabies is one of the deadliest diseases known and vaccination is the only means of prevention. Join DelVal for this celebration of Louis Pasteur and this Global Alliance for Rabies Control event.

The presentation is being sponsored by the University’s One Health Working Group and DelVal’s School of Life and Physical Sciences. This is a registered Global Alliance for Rabies Control event and is a part of World Rabies Day.
