Trustee Michael Moss named National Chairperson of the DelVal Fund Volunteer Council.

Mar 09, 2010

During the 2009 fiscal year (July 1, 2008 - June 30, 2009) we instituted a new volunteer group to help with fundraising. This group, the DelVal Fund Volunteer Council, has worked together over the past year to reach out to many of our donor groups. In July, our National Chairperson, Kevin Keim '68, decided to step down to focus on family and work. As a result, we now welcome a new Chairperson of the DelVal Fund Volunteer Council, Michael Moss. Michael is a new trustee at the college and is excited to be taking on the role of National Chairperson for the DelVal Fund. Michael will lead a team of involved alumni, friends and parents as they continue to reach out and discuss the importance of supporting the DelVal Fund.

Among other goals as National Chairperson for the DelVal Fund Volunteer Council, Michael is committed to increasing Delaware Valley College's profile in the local community. He has started working towards enlisting a Community Chairperson for the DelVal Fund Volunteer Council and continues to work with Dr. Joseph S. Brosnan, college president, and other local trustees to engage the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce.

During the spring semester, Michael is meeting with the other dedicated members of the DelVal Fund Volunteer Council. Bill Mullin, the trustee chair, remains a dedicated trustee at DelVal in addition to his role as vice-president for quality operations at Merck. Emily Keggan '01, our young alumni chair, recently welcomed a baby girl, Raelyn Dakota Keggan, on Jan. 30. Bill Clarke '74 has spent some time traveling but remains a dedicated volunteer, attending Alumni Executive Committee meetings and helping the students at A-Day.

Joe and Betsy Mandara P '13 are new parent chairs on the council and are excited to support the college during their son, Joey's, freshman year at DelVal. Gail '80 and John '79 Barr stay connected with past parents and are proud of their son Steve '09 during his first year as a DelVal alum. Ted Staniewicz, the staff chair, and Cynthia Keler '84, the faculty chair, are both dedicated DelVal employees and continue to work on-campus in support of the DelVal Fund.

A huge thanks to all of our DelVal Fund Volunteer Council chairpersons. Through sharing their commitment to the college and reasons for supporting the DelVal Fund, they encourage others to do the same and help to increase unrestricted support for all areas of the student experience.
