Held each fall, the 1896 Society Gala honors those who demonstrate an outstanding financial commitment to the University.  Named for the year of DelVal’s founding and reflecting the belief that a dedicated group of individuals can make a special contribution to higher education, the 1896 Society brings together individuals with leadership, ability, experience, and influence to support Delaware Valley University’s mission with their major financial gifts.

The 2018 1896 Society Gala was held in the ballroom of the Lambertville Station Restaurant and Inn in Lambertville, NJ. Highlights included:

  • Jim Harteis '65 receiving the Patricia Hilton Volunteer of the Year Award for his dedication to DelVal;
  • Judy Wicks being honored with the Krauskopf Medal for her work within the food industry, particularly with farm to table logistics;
  • Student speaker Makenzie Bishop '19 speaking about her time at DelVal and thanking our donors; and
  • President Maria Gallo acknowledging the generosity of donors of the 1896 Society and talking about the upcoming pillars within DelVal's new strategic plan.
