My name is Eliza DiTomasso and this spring I will be studying at Hartpury College in the beautiful countryside of Gloucestershire County. As one of five DelVal students this semester taking part in this exchange, I truly am looking forward to the vast knowledge and adventures that await us.

This time around two of us, myself included, are animal science majors, which is somewhat unique, since mainly equine majors take part in this exchange. During my time here, I am planning on keeping an open mind to try and experience all new opportunities, interact with people from all over the world and gain a new perspective of the animal science field here in England.

The last two weeks have been filled with lots of tours, both on campus and in town, meeting new people, and getting into the swing of things with classes. Everything has been happening at such a fast pace that thankfully jetlag never became a factor, especially now that we are five hours ahead of everyone back home.

What surprised me the most was that on my first night I had people from my block (residence hall) knocking on my door to introduce themselves. This ended up being a great conversation about my new found friends and what life was like here at Hartpury.

Overall, I thought the whole idea of adjusting to a new culture and environment was going to be the hardest part. However, with the support and new friendships, both American and English, I feel as though this new college has become a second home!
