This summer, I had an exceptional opportunity to work at Bowman’s Feed and Pet in Westminster, Maryland as a Purina animal nutrition intern.

The on-boarding process began with a trip to the Purina Animal Research Center in St. Louis, Missouri, where I joined about 80 other interns who would be working on various projects throughout the United States.

My project consisted of sales and marketing efforts to promote show feeds. For example, I provided Bowman’s Feed with market knowledge by creating and managing a custom survey, while connecting with existing and prospective customers in the area.

When my summer tour with Bowman’s Feed came to a close in August, I traveled to Land O’Lakes headquarters in Arden Hills, Minnesota to share my experiences with several of their executives.

This internship has further exposed me to the nutritional needs of livestock and lifestyle animals and has also enabled me to build valuable relationships with those who are extremely knowledgeable in the animal nutrition field – an area I would like to pursue in my future with the Purina Company. I am currently serving as an on-campus Purina Ambassador at DelVal and would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
